The top songs of 1975 didn't really reflect the popular music of the time. Funk was in full swing and disco was starting to make its mark. Black artists were beginning to cross over on the music charts. Country music, especially country rock style, was also gaining in popularity.

The David Bowie classic rock song "Fame" made the top ten songs for 1975. John Denver also had a top ten hit in 1975 for the second year in a row. Elton John also had another top ten hit song in 1975.
