Hello? You Awake?
OH MY HEAD!!!
Have you ever had a roommate? I don't care if it was college, a weekend at a campground or your brother and sister in a set of bunk beds. I'm looking for some helpful input. . .I've had enough!
Here's the pickle. . .they both sleep!
I've never seen anything like it in my life and, may I add I'm no spring chicken! I've seen the world.
I'll come home from work, exhausted and do I sleep? NO! I cook, I clean, I do my blah blah blah, til I drop dead, just to do it all again the next day. Waking up at 5-5:30am each morning is not an easy feat, depending on when you lay yourself down the night before. But how does one who has slept all day, sleep through the night? I just don't understand it!
The other day, my daughter came, say 5pm, for a quick drop by, nuthin' big, "hello, goodbye" what ever, and do you know what my roommate did? Left me an email: "Could you please not have company this late at night, I need to sleep". Now that email was timed and dated, for 6pm.
Does she get up with me at 5am? NO
Does she work a job where she's got to leave the house, maybe get dressed for the day? NO
Does she do any of the housework? NO
Oh! Don't let me forget that she's got four dogs! Would you think she cleans up the floors after her beloved pets? NO. . .please forgive me this once, I absolutely love those dogs, but still If I'm up all day, busting my buttocks, and come home to dog urine everywhere, do I even complain? NO I end up cleaning up after them. Why? Cuz she's asleep!
Okay, so when I make dinner she smells the food and wakes up to eat. I don't want to make her sound like a vampire, aren't they usually up at all hours of the night though? Not this lady!
When I first started this little vent hub, (well yes, I do need serious advice here, too) I mentioned that they both sleep. Both meaning her and the husband, whom I might add isn't living here, he, get this, he just sleeps here. UGH! Yup. I'm lonely in a house full of dogs and three adults! Imagine?
It's kind of scary though to see someone do this, it really is! I'm not sure what the problem is but I know what I don't want to do. I don't want to sleep I'll tell ya that!
Well, I've moved on, hate to say it wasn't necessarily forward, but onward...Some people have been blessed with wonderful roommates, that possibility just doesn't seem to be in the cards for me.
Put it this way, months later, and STILL AWAKE; I've decided a skeleton crew position (that's an overnight shift) may be the best solution for me. I'll be sure to let you know how badly that fails! ROFL!
