Use Ezine Articles Boost Traffic Website

Updated on April 2, 2010

EzineArcticles Power Linking

When it comes to writing articles online, many writers become overwhelmed by the array of choices. There are website communities, like HubPages, that allow writers to publish whatever they desire, so long as it complies with a handful of rules. There are also article directories like Ezine Articles that publish writer content, so long as it complies with a handful of reviews, and passes a cursory editorial review. There is also the option to create a website of one's one. Among the many options here is the now common blog. Finding the best WordPress themes for writers becomes a common project for many newbies.

Wherever the professional writer chooses to write and publish their creative work, there is one fact that they must constantly remember. While everyone may say that content is king, until that content gets found, ranked, and indexed, content isn't the king of much.

Fortunately, there is a way for authors and writers of all skill levels to build up a high-traffic backlinking platform. Publishing articles on EzineArticles.com is one way to do just that.

Publishing articles on Ezines virtually guarantees eventual indexing by Google. Once indexed, the march up higher in the search rankings can begin. The links from the published Ezinearticles help in this push. However, in order for those articles to pack enough power, they themselves must be given some PageRank power to use. Only then, can a writer earn money writing online.

Power Comes From Self

How To Use EzineArticles

Using EzineArticles is fairly simple, however, there are differences between Ezinearticles and HubPages that writers should understand. The biggest difference is that all ezine articles are reviewed by an editor before publication. For the pro writer, this level of review should not be any barrier. At HubPages articles are typically not reviewed by an editor unless they have more than two links to the same domain. These hubs are considered "overly-promotional."

One of my EzineArticles is about IRS Wash Sale Rules on Investments. There might not be enough sizzle there, eh? And, while the article does indeed explain the IRS rules for wash sales in clear and concise language, the article doesn't rank for any common searches about wash sales. I'll let you take a look at which sites DO make the top 10 or 20 spots to draw your own conclusions about whether all of those webpages have better "content" to make them kings.

Using EzineArticles to make money and drive traffic requires a bit of finesse. Most important of all is to choose a good title. Such titles should have the targetted keyword at the beginning of the title. Next, the articles must be worthwhile and have some "buzz" to them. The biggest value from Ezine comes from articles be republished around the web by Ezine publishers.

Now, here is the dirty little secret about Ezine publishers: most of them are just automated publishing bots. While some website owners may read and carefully select available EzineArticles, that number is much smaller. Getting 20 or 30 backlinks from such publishers is good, but it is nothing compared to drawing 100, 1000, or even 10,000 backlinks from the auto publishing bots out there running automated WordPress blogs and auto publish plug-ins in order to sell products or advertising.

To be valuable to these sites, articles must have sought after buzzwords and topics. Most commonly valued are articles on health, travel, legal, and financial topics.

Be sure to bookmark your published EzineArticles on your favorite social bookmarking websites to help give them an initial boost.
