Valentines Day Card Poetry
Valentines Day is the traditional day of love, and as part of that tradition we send Valentines cards to our wife, girlfriend, husband, boyfriend, and if we are single we send a card to the person we would like to be in a relationship with.
As Part of the card sending tradition, we all like to add a little poem in the card for the recipient, usually along the lines of, Roses are red, violets are blue, honey is sweet, and so are you. Not very imaginative if you ask me this poem has been around since Adam and Eve first met.
Of course that poem has been changed to suit many times and my favourite version was for someone you don't like it read, Roses are red, Violets are blue, covered in b/sh*t, they remind me of you.
Writing your own poetry for your intended recipient, shows that you have imagination, shows that you have a sensitive side to you, shows that you really care and the rewards are greater than if you use a poem that is as old as the hills.
You will also be surprised at how easy it is, you don't have to be a literary genius, to write a poem and it doesn't even have to rhyme

Here is one I wrote today
Be My Valentine
I see you every day at school
And I think you look so fine
Will you come out with me tonight,
As my Valentine?
It took me all of two minutes to think it up and another minute to write it.
Another one I wrote today
Play the Guessing Game
Guess who I am
And you will find
A special gift of heart and mind
Guess who I am, then call me up
And we will share a loving cup
If you can't guess then here's a clue
My number is on the envelope glue
This one is to send partly anonymously, but of course you do need to write your phone number on the seal of the envelope, not your name though.
Love You Love Me
I Love you
You are everything that is good in my life
My motivator, my muse, my heart my soul
You are the reason that I am who I am
You are the reason for all that I do
You are the reason that I will stay true
And the best thing of all is that you love me too
I wrote this one recently for my wife Alison.
As you can see it really isn't that difficult, why don't you give it a try this Valentines day and give your Valentine an original poem written from your heart.
I promise you the rewards are far greater that using the old worn out roses are red poetry (Nudge, nudge wink, wink!!!)
