There are a number of superstitions about salt and pepper you have probably heard them before and perhaps you have been known to carry them out. I didn't come from a superstitious family so I tend not to be so inclined but maybe I should.
Superstition says -
When you spill salt you should immediately toss a few grains over your left shoulder or all hell may break loose.
The salt and pepper shakers should be passed together and then set on the table not in someone's hand. I'm not sure what happens but seems like good manners to me.
If pepper is spilled you will have a serious argument with a friend, I guess its good I'm not much of a pepper fan.
So, do you believe in these superstitions or think they're just bunk?

Did You Know?
That when in a restaurant if you sprinkle a bit of salt on a cocktail napkin the glass will not stick to the napkin, seems like a good way to avoid the flying carpet napkin trick if you know what I mean.
