WordZap is a game where you can construct words from the selected letters on the panel. It has two versions of the game, Classic WordZap and WordZap Deluxe. Classic WordZap is the free version of the game and WordZap Deluxe is the paid version.

Rules of the Game

Classic WordZap

As a player, you have to construct 7 unique words first. You can construct a minimum of 3 letter words and a maximum of 5 letter words. Your opponent is the computer. You have to be fast in choosing the letters and creating words. The words will be zapped when you and the computer use the same words. There are two categories in the game; the EasyZap and the WordZap.

In EasyZap, there are 8 letters to choose from the panel. You’ll have to put those letters onto the tiles to create words. You can choose the letters randomly. To end a word, press the end button or double click your mouse at the end of the letter. If you finish first, you win.

In WordZap, there are 15 letters to choose from the panel.  Random selection is only accepted on the first letter of your choice.  You’ll have to choose the next letter only beside or below the first letter you have chosen.  And all the consecutive letters you choose should only be beside or below the last letter you chose.  To end a word, press the end button or double click your mouse at the end of the letter.  If you finish first, you win.

WordZap Deluxe

In this version of the game, you can play the EasyZap and WordZap. You’ll have an additional game with MatchZap. In MatchZap, you can play online with your friends or with the WordZap community.

Add-ons for WordZap Deluxe

You will have access to WordWeb. This is a free dictionary program where word definitions will be displayed. You can get synonyms and antonyms of a word. Only registered users of WordZap will have access to this package. You will get full length definitions of any word. When you or the computer makes an obscure word, an instant definition of the word is displayed.

Foreign Word List

You will have a choice of 8 foreign languages to add on your wordzap game. The 8 foreign languages you can add are French, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Portuguese. You can use a minimum of 3 letter words and a maximum of 7 letter words.

Other Add-ons to the Game

  1. You can chat with your friends or make new friends while you play.
  2. You can choose three different ‘motifs’ or background design for your game.
  3. If you like to play on a team, you can join the wordzap league. It is possible for a player to play in wordzap tournaments and win prizes.
  4. You can look up definitions translated into other languages.
  5. You can kill your human opponent with ‘sudden death’ option. In this option, you need to use just one 7 letter word.
  6. This is a great game to help improve your vocabulary and spelling. And learn the translations in other languages.

The last time I played a game on the computer was around 10 years ago. Started after dinner and went on till dawn. It was a chess. I actually beat the computer!

Later my sister suggested that the system is programed to lose occasionally! Probably she was right!

Hello, Quicksand. I know what you mean. I used to play chess against the computer and I've only won about 3 times in my history of chess gaming against computer opponent. I got tired of it eventually. No use playing and playing and only win occasionally.

If you like the idea of winning over computer opponent, then you'll really love wordzap. You'd have at least a 50-50 chance of winning against your computer.

I love word games, I will definitely try this out. Do you play Scrabble in Facebook? They used to have Scrabulous now it has a different name. :)

Hi Cgull, I'm sure you'll enjoy this game. But after awhile, this game might feel very easy if you are really good at constructing words. I'm not sure if it'll bore you by then. Anyway, you can always upgrade to the paid version so you can play against human opponent online.

No, I don't play scrabble in facebook. My connection is quite slow so I can't play online games. I always stick to offline games. :)

Beats me, great post, I play computer chess, try going to the lowest level, you may find you win more games, then gradually build up. I have had several "chess" real life friends, unfortunately they have all passed on, one especially very prematurely, life can be so sad at times, but these games do put a sparkle on things.

Hi Katyzzz, thanks. But I used to play chessmaster, it was a free version. There was no lowest level. It was only a one level and it was difficult to win that game.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I know life is oftentimes sad but we still have to go on. Having these games can help lighten the burden we have.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoy this game. It's not hard to download this so I'm assuming you'd get a copy. :)
