Sayings of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh)

I have listed some of my favourite sayings of the prophet Mohammad (pbuh). I hope that you can learn something from them or share them with others.

Mohammad (pbuh) Said:

“Whoever would be glad to have his livelihood expanded and his life prolonged should maintain family ties.”

“Seeking knowledge is incumbent upon every Muslim.”

“Part of the excellence of one’s Islam is avoiding involvement in what does not concern one.”

“Be mindful of God, and you will find God in front of you. Acknowledge God in ease, and God will acknowledge you in distress. And know that what misleads you will never enable you to do right, and what enables you to do right will never mislead you. And know that help comes with patience, and that relief comes with distress; and that with difficulty comes ease.”

“Leave aside whatever caused you doubts or misgivings, in favour of what does not cause you doubts or misgivings. For truth is peace of mind, while falsehood is mental disquiet.”

“The powerful one is not the one who overthrows others, but the one who controls himself in anger.”

“Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the falsest of talk. And do not snoop, and do not pry, and do not be divisive, but be brothers.”

“God forbids paradise to any ruler of a Muslim citizenry who dies while he is deceiving them.”

“Emancipate the captive, feed the hungry, visit the sick.”

“You see the believers in their mutual kindness, love, and sympathy, as if they were a single body; when one of its members is ailing, the rest of the body joins it in sleeplessness and fever.”

“Food for two suffices three; and food for three suffices four.”

“A believer should never loathe a believing wife. If one quality in her does not find favour with her husband, some other quality will be to his liking.”

“When a man tells you something in confidence, you should not betray his trust.”

O God, I seek divine guidance

so that I may remain steadfast

in what is just.

I seek divine guidance in order to be

firm in righteousness.

I seek divine guidance in the manner

that I express my gratitude

for Your favours

and worship with devotion.

I seek from You a tongue that speaks

the truth

and a heart which is pure

and clean.

Ameen

Please share what you learn. These were just a few of the sayings of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
