Yogurt yes

Yogurt (also spelled yogourt or yoghurt) is one food that we eat almost ever day; in fact the only time we don’t use it in some way is when we have run out and the trip to the grocery store has not yet happened. No matter, how well I plan there are times when other parts of my life demand my attention and items like yogurt must wait a day or two. Fortunately this does not happen all that often.

Yogurt is a semi-solid fermented milk product which originated centuries ago in Bulgaria.

The video shows you how to make a tasty yogurt rice dish which is an ideal way to usu leftover rice or a good reason to make extra rice when cooking.

I buy either plain or natural vanilla flavoured yogurt, I prefer to add my own fruit such as banana, or any field berry (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries) whatever is in season. I will also add a tablespoon of plain or vanilla yogurt to my breakfast cereal, usually an all-bran, plus a dash of cinnamon.

However, the most common way we consume yogurt is in the morning smoothie.

Smoothies are simple to make, you can use either orange juice or milk, we use both, not at the same time, but for variety; the milk is always skim.

In the blender place:

2 tbsp yogurt (plain or vanilla)

½ cup fruit (your choice)

Crushed ice

1 cup skim milk

1 tbsp wheat germ

Cinnamon and honey to taste

Blend until smooth

Pour into glasses and enjoy.

This does not take long, total prep time is under 5 minutes, and will help you day get off to a great start. The smoothie is ideal if you do not have time to sit down to breakfast or just do not fell like cooking that morning. You can even add 2 tbsp of all bran cereal to the mix before blending.

Bob! I like the Yogurt smoothies for afternoon pick-me-ups too. As a matter of fact I'm enjoying one right now. Banana and blackberry it is absolutely delish...

Have you tried rice, a little ground beef and lentils with yogurt? This is one of my "I don't know what I want for dinner" or "left overs clean up day" solutions.

Very easy but great: 1 cup of cooked long grain rice , 1 cup of cooked brown lentils, 1/2 cup lean ground beef, ground chicken or ground turkey browned, 1/2 cup of carmelized onions, one clove of garlic finely choped, salt and pepper to taste stir together and eat with lots of plain yogurt. I like 1% yogurt with this dish the best because it has a more tangy flavor to it. I hope you try it and also enjoy it...

Great HUB regards Zsuzsy
