Hate Campaigns by leaders from Communist parties, Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena etc. and media and press anchors, editors writers in India--- Are we not sick of it---for a long long time. Time to stop it and get back to improving average life.

I did not write in between at all. I was a little discouraged with the exposure. A hub attracts much less people watching it than say a news paper or tv. it is natural also, since effort one can make to popularize it, is much less than what media and press does. So I wrote comments in news papers in between. I do generally take up issues which are of general interest hence do wish to have exposures comments as much as possible. But I came back, thought why not I post some comments in hubs also.At least some people may discuss issues involved.

One aspect in India which is indeed puzzling is that most editors, anchors, writers in media and press, top leaders of many parties specially Communists, Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena are completely lost in just hate campaigns. Usual target for left oriented people is BJP, RSS, any thing Hindu, any thing which has Indian cultural style, USA included. Target for leaders of parties like Shiv sena, DMK, AIDMK, BSP and other similar parties representing one group is practically any other group depending on time. TV anchors or editors play with all of them. Though mostly first group that is of leftists, congress etc. is much more powerful and most of the time has been part of ruling clan hence TV media bows to their wishes much more. You do see similar degradation in other societies also like USA, Europe etc. But in India this seems to occupy main space. It is very unfortunate. It is high time we leave aside all hate and work towards the goal of making average life better and make every Indian live a life with some economic dignity. Even if we stop all this type of mudslinging and just get back to clean our country, it will go in a long way to provide better life to people.

There is one well known saying in Indian languages "साहित्य समाज का दर्पण है।" (press and media is mirror of the society). But today our media does not reflect at all wishes and sentiments of the society. Not that western press or media is really in a very happy situation. Still at least the whole space is not occupied by just mudslinging. Even some of our tv business channels are quite ok. Question is how do we change it. How do we generate a movement so that we have news papers like NY times, or others, where lot of serious discussion of issues is often seen. How do we have tv news channels like public tv in USA, or national geography, or even with at least a little seriousness like BBC, CNN etc. Any ideas??

Let us hope some wisdom grows in our top leadership in governments and media and press. Here is a comment I had made on one of the articles in Times of India, -

Hi!
You claim or at least imply that BJP or RSS hate Muslims, Christians, etc. There is much less evidence of that. As far as one goes one finds that both BJP and RSS always as organizations have propagated very old Indians philosophy which continues in hearts of almost all Indians "sarva Dharma saman bhav" (looking at all religions with the same feeling). I have never heard even Modi any time saying "hate other communities" words. On the other hand what one does see in media is that a large number of tv channel writers, anchors some communist, congress or NCP top leaders do hate BJP, RSS and practically every aspect Indian culture (I hope you are not part of this hate crew?). Moment they find themselves in trouble or some times just out of insecurity built by their style, they start branding things Indian style or BJP, RSS or Modi or some other group as communal and what not. So is the path followed by other side extremists leaders from Shiv Sena and other such parties who start hate campaigns every now and then against one group or other. First group among these is much more powerful and visible. Often one also sees clear signs that first group uses second group as a tool. It is this aspect which people in India are very sick. It is this group and style which India has to leave behind. I do hope they will soon enough. Time being what one needs is to let all hate discussions be left on side and let us develop economy technology and improve life of every one in India, in Indian style using science technology and economic tools. People are looking at you as writer also to have this as campaign, rather than worrying or hating BJP or others. Are you ready o leave behind your hates and reservations and work towards this goal? If you need inspirations just go through Kalam's writings.

ps. Let me end this hub with some optimistic note. In this depressing situation with our politics and media there are of course people who are very inspiring. One such person is Arun shorey. Who belongs to both the classes. He is a jornalist as well as a politician. Here is a link to his recent interesting interview on "shabby manner in which BJP is handling its affairs" time being.

I totally agree with you on this issue these days media is all about mudslinging and TRP war is really making the things worse. In a bid to prove them how fast they are in getting the news to the viewers they don't bother to do enough homework like ascertaining facts, its effect on society nothing as such, no social consciousness very disappointing trends. And you know the irony is that these so called channels are so hypocritical that they show religious content in one slot and in the very slot you see them criticizing such activities, its hard to believe them. And let me also add they never show the things in the way they are, they will do it in a biased manner, all in a vein attempt to boost TRP'S, its so annoying, but its a reality. Hope things will be smooth. Nice hub.

Thanks a lot wordsword for your comment. I totally agree with you. With this attitude our media and press people have lot credibility quite a bit. Often now their credibility seems to be even lower than that of usual politicians.
