How to Build a Brand New Custom Chopper out of Junk Motorcycle Parts at Home?
If building custom choppers for recreation is
your hobby and you are a fan of homemade motorcycles, then read this interesting
personal review of our friend Kartik (contact no. 9724980758) on how he build his first homemade custom
mini chopper without any prior knowledge of automobile engineering. Yes, he has
made a custom Yamaha chopper in India
by learning through books on automobiles as he is just a commerce grad. He had
made a chopper bike using a Yamaha engine and it is a chopper in real sense because
its height is less than one meter and length is approximately 8 feet. Most of
the parts had been made by him and his team only. The tank, chassis, and fenders
all were designed and chopped at home only. There are just little things that Kartik
got done from a motorcycle workshop outside like welding of chassis, finishing
of bike tank, etc. Kartik had done a great deal of research for making this motorcycle.
He surfed through google, visited and researched a number of web sites on
automobiles and custom choppers, referred many books, etc. as he is not an
engineering student or a graduate in automobile engineering. I have uploaded two important videos below and eight pics at the sides to help you understand how to build your own custom chopper. You can also contact Kartik at 9724980758
He just completed his graduation in commerce 3 years back but as playing with machines is in his blood, that is the reason why he designed everything at home in Autocad 3d and gathered all the raw material, and got those things assembled per his requirement and that’s how he made this bike. Actually, Kartik saw a 20-year-old Yamaha RX 100 bike that he purchased for just 5000 rupees and that was a true piece of junk, so he started working on the engine first and got it polished and chromed and that was when an idea clicked into his mind of making this bike a chopper.
Yamaha RX 100 is a true powerful street bike and is good for dirt biking and making a chopper out of this crap is a really great thing to do. Kartik since his childhood used to visit a numbers of industries, so all his “love towards metal and motor” started when he was a kid.
His father used to take him to different factories and manufacturing units and from there he learnt all these things. He kept in his mind the industrial problems, their barriers, etc. and designed this bike out of junk motorcycle parts.
He says that making a custom chopper is easy but giving it a brand new look with perfection is the toughest thing about building motorcycles, as in India industrial labor is quite expensive because our industries have not yet developed so well, so labor charges add to our bike at a great extent; otherwise, it is easy and affordable to make a motorcycle or bike.
I have uploaded some pics of custom chopper made by Kartik and you can go through them and let me know what you think about his work.
