Due to the great demand, the inventory in all the stores were sold out in few hours.

European retailers were sold out of the new iPhone 3G before stores in the US even opened.

Almost everywhere hundreds of people waited for hours to get the so desired iPhone 3G.

In Japan, the 1st person in the queue was there 3 days.

Why do these people want to get it on the first day? You know what they say: If you don't get it on the first day you can't get it.

Some appear to be in love with Apple’s products in general, some just want to get the latest gadget as soon as possible.

As a result of the simultaneous massive activation of the new iPhones the iTunes servers were affected, preventing new customers from completing their iPhone 2.0 software installations.

An 8GB iPhone 3G cost $199 and the 16GB model cost $299. They come in white and black versions.

Tom Dickson stood in line at an AT&T store in Utah to purchase the iPhone 3G to stay organized.

He no longer needed the original version so he decided to blend it. But he accidentally blended the 3G.
