Sample letter of recommendation - Reference letters
Letters of recommendation are very simple to write but a lot of people are completely scared of writing them. Part of the reason for this could be the awesome responsibility that these letters carry. Imagine writing a letter that could potentially shape someone's life forever! No wonder so many people are careful. Here's a simple letter of recommendation example that you can model. There are plenty more examples online. I just wrote this quickly. I'd recommend that you get yourself a copy of a book or e-book about general letter writing or even more specifically, writing a good recommendation for someone such as an employee, student, friend etc. It's a fantastic way to get an overview and a general idea of the dos and don'ts when writing. Plus these types of books usually contain lots and lots of example letters and samples that you can model and use.
Well, below is the letter of recommendation example:
To Whom It May Concern:
James Richards volunteered for six years in the Men's Health ward at John Treeman Hospital. During this time, He was a reliable volunteer who never missed a shift. He was never late for any appointment either.
James was an asset to the hospital and he was always cheerful and willing to assist with any task or duty. In addition, James is a quick learner and he was motivated and interested in learning and improving his skills.
James Richards is relocating to a different hospital due to circumstances beyond his control, and, unfortunately, we will no longer be able to have his services. He will be missed and I highly recommend him to any future employer or organization.
Sincerely,
Dr Frazer Kingston M.D.
