Everyone Loves Movies

I have loved going to the movies since I can remember. When I was little I would often go to the movies with my family and as a teenager I pretty much went once a week with friends.

I can't believe that on July 31st and August 1st lots of Hollywood movie props, original posters and costumes will finally be auctioned off. Currently you can start bidding but it will be live on the 31st and 1st. These are the memorabilia from blockbusters and classics. This huge collection of movie history has been building up for years. I am amazed at all of the great one of a kind souvenirs to be had. Their are costumes from Spider-man, super-man, Gladiator, Conan, Men in Black, Indiana Jones and lots of others.

I wish I could Buy Something

It would be so awesome to build the coolest home theater and add some of these props.

My only set back to owning a piece of filmmaking history is the unbelievable price. If I could part with my car I could get something cheap that isn't as cool. But, if I sell my house and live in my car I could get an original Tie fighter model or a model dinosaur head from Jurassic Park. If the hoverboard from Back to the Future actually worked the price would seam a lot more reasonable.

I guess I can hint around to my family about the auctions and see what my birthday brings.

Movie Props

It would be so cool to be able to buy a piece of filmaking history. The list of products to be auctioned of is incredible. Some examples are a suit from Men in Black, a giant dinosaur head model form Jurassic Park, A sword from Serenity and many more.

I had a lot of fun just looking around ebay under Profiles in History to see all of the great movie stuff. So I highly recommend just looking around. You might be surprised at what you find.

If the hoverboard really worked I would consider the $30,000 a more reasonable price. Although it is the one the was used in Back to the Future 2. I think it would go great with the new Nike Hyperdunk sneaker that was just released. It is based on the sneakers Marty Mcfly wore in Back to the Future 2. Unfortunately it is a very limited release and I can only find them on Ebay.

Hi Karen, I went to the Planet Hollywood in New York a long time ago. The food was great and they had all kinds of great movie memorabilia. The giant Joker statue looks really cool too.

Ebay will be stocked with such memorabilia in the future. I also would like to have some of the classic posters Jaws, Star Trek, Clint Eastwood.

Wow there are so many different movie pieces I would love to own. The Holy Grail from Indy is pretty freaking sweet! It'd be cool to get some props out of Top Gun, such a great movie.

I work at a Hollywood Casino in Illinois, and our memorabilia collection is rather weak. They need to hit up e-bay and update their collection.

I want Aragorn himself from The Lord of the Rings - but short of getting a real, live, broody, hot hero to store in my toy cupboard until his services are required, I guess I guess I'll go for the VW minivan from 'Little Miss Sunshine' that's if I can't have Aragorn.

Thanks for all of the great comments. I have always loved going to the movies. It would be awesome to someday convert my garage into a movie room and fill it with a few movie props on display. Although I would probably stick to the replicas because these are expensive. I would add a popcorn machine and a soda fountain. My boys would love it too.

Update

Well it looks like the big auction finally came to a close. All of my Ebay links disappeared for the major Hollywood items that I found. I will see what other authentic props I can find and add them as soon as I can.

While looking for these movie props. I actually learned something new. I never new that Return of the Jedi was originally called Revenge of the Jedi. George Lucas soon changed it because Jedi don't seek revenge. But their are still some memorabilia around with Revenge instead of return.
