Raw Honey for your Skin & Health

The average person reaches for something like Bacitracin or Neosporin when dressing an open, nasty-looking wound sustained while falling on your bike, chopping vegetables, or even after coming back from the hospital with a head full of stitches. Then maybe hydrocortisone, body lotion, or some expensive, fancy tub of God-knows-what when dealing with an ugly rash that will never seem to go away. These products definitely help, but there is something MUCH more effective, as well as all-natural, that has been used for thousands of years- Raw honey.

Raw honey is a gift to the Earth. I swear, it does wonders. The key reason for this is because of honey's low moisture level. Bacteria cannot survive in an environment of raw honey, period. This stuff has been discovered in ancient Egyptian tombs, still completely edible. Any type of commercial honey can be eaten and used on the skin, but unheated, unstrained/unfiltered, organic honey is ideal. It can be found at any natural foods store.

PURCHASING

It sounds weird and unnecessary, I know, but just try it once and you will definitely be impressed. Raw honey comes in multiple sizes of jars, usually from random, small honey bee apiaries. I am sure you can even purchase it directly from the beekeeper. It is more expensive than the stuff you find on any grocery store shelf, but it is worth every penny.

WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT?

You open up the jar, and are hit with an interesting wiff of fresh honey, straight from the hive! A layer of beeswax, pollen and propolis on the top is normal. You can scoop this off and eat it if you want. It is actually great for you! Underneath is the honey, which is golden and opaque. It has never been messed with or sucked through miles of factory piping. Since it has never been heated or filtered, it is full of enzymes that aid in digestion, amino acids, and an array of vitamins and minerals. It is definitely considered a super-food and is known to aid in longevity.

SKIN APPLICATION & RESULTS

Raw honey is applied directly to the skin/open wound in liberal amounts as often as needed. It has no side effects. You might want to cover the spot with a bandage and/or sleep with a towel over your bed because it is sticky. Although it may tingle or sting a bit when applied to a bad injury, the pain should be gone shortly after application. Overnight, one should witness a drastic reduction or disappearance in pain. There should be a clean, pink appearance and reduction in size of the wound, and a complete cessation of any infection/puss. Rashes usually disappear within a couple of days, even ones that seem to be incurable or caused by an internal source. Bacteria cannot live, so infections always reverse. Best of all, scarring is basically avoided or unbelievably reduced. Wherever applied simply transforms into healthy new skin within a week.

GIVE IT A SHOT...

I am not a doctor or a scientist, but look raw honey up anywhere else online and you will read the same sort of stuff that I described. I have been using this externally and internally for five years, and have only experienced great results. I do not own honey bees or sell honey, I just think it is a really awesome substance.

OTHER USES

Known to...

Cure ulcers when eaten regularly. Modern medicine knows that ulcers are caused by bacteria, not by acid. Acid irritates the ulcers.

Eat a teaspoon or more to settle your stomach.

Alleviate or even prevent allergies in some people because of the plant pollen that is contained in unheated, unfiltered/unstrained honey. It "immunizes" you. The key here is to purchase the honey from as local an apiary as possible so that the pollen comes from plants that actually inhabit your area.

Healthy Sweetener: The sweet taste is primarily sourced from glucose and fructose, not sucrose. Sucrose is white, table sugar. Fructose is fruit sugar and glucose is the sugar that our own body makes and utilizes.

NEVER goes bad or expires!
