Sanskrit is beautiful and meaningful. There is no more meaninful or beautiful characters than Sanskrit. Consider a sanskrit Sloka from the Bhagavad-gita or Srimad Bhagavatam for a timeless Sanskrit tattoo.
Sanskrit is the Mother of ALL Languages
"Sanskrit. Sanskrit is a language which is mother of all languages. Sanskrit, S-a-n-s-k-r-i-t, Sanskrit language. So this is the original language of this..., not only of this planet. In other planets also, this language is spoken."
~His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, 2/1/1968, L.A.
Sanskrit tattoos found online soon to be my spot for sanskrit art drawings of Krishna's sayings.
Any of these Bhagavad Gita verses make a great Sanskrit Tattoo
Chapter 2, Verse 10.
O descendant of Bharata, at that time Krsna, smiling, in the midst of both the armies, spoke the following words to the grief-stricken Arjuna.
Chapter 2, Verse 11.
The Blessed Lord said: While speaking learned words, you are mourning for what is not worthy of grief. Those who are wise lament neither for the living nor the dead.
Chapter 2, Verse 12.
Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.
Chapter 2, Verse 13.
As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change.
Chapter 2, Verse 14.
O son of Kunti, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.
Chapter 2, Verse 15.
O best among men [Arjuna], the person who is not disturbed by happiness and distress and is steady in both is certainly eligible for liberation.
Chapter 2, Verse 16.
Those who are seers of the truth have concluded that of the nonexistent there is no endurance, and of the existent there is no cessation. This seers have concluded by studying the nature of both.
Chapter 2, Verse 17.
Know that which pervades the entire body is indestructible. No one is able to destroy the imperishable soul.
Chapter 2, Verse 18.
Only the material body of the indestructible, immeasurable and eternal living entity is subject to destruction; therefore, fight, O descendant of Bharata.
Chapter 2, Verse 19.
He who thinks that the living entity is the slayer or that he is slain, does not understand. One who is in knowledge knows that the self slays not nor is slain.
Chapter 2, Verse 20.
For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.
Chapter 2, Verse 21.
O Partha, how can a person who knows that the soul is indestructible, unborn, eternal and immutable, kill anyone or cause anyone to kill?
Chapter 2, Verse 22.
As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, similarly, the soul accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

TRANSLATION
He who knows in truth this glory and power of Mine engages in unalloyed devotional service; of this there is no doubt.
PURPORT
The highest summit of spiritual perfection is knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Unless one is firmly convinced of the different opulences of the Supreme Lord, he cannot engage in devotional service. Generally people know that God is great, but they do not know in detail how God is great. Here are the details. If one knows factually how God is great, then naturally he becomes a surrendered soul and engages himself in the devotional service of the Lord. When one factually knows the opulences of the Supreme, there is no alternative but to surrender to Him. This factual knowledge can be known from the descriptions in Srimad-Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita and similar literatures. In the administration of this universe there are many demigods distributed throughout the planetary system, and the chief of them are Brahma, Lord Siva and the four great Kumaras and other patriarchs. There are many forefathers of the population of the universe, and all of them are born of the Supreme Lord Krsna. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, is the original forefather of all forefathers. These are some of the opulences of the Supreme Lord. When one is firmly convinced of them, he accepts Krsna with great faith and without any doubt, and he engages in devotional service. All this particular knowledge is required in order to increase one's interest in the loving devotional service of the Lord. One should not neglect to understand fully how great Krsna is, for by knowing the greatness of Krsna one will be able to be fixed in sincere devotional service.
(you must get the book to see the Sanskrit at this point, but I assure you it is beautiful..)

The words are divinely eminated from the source of the entire cosmic manifestation. Lord Shri Krishna describing himself in the Bhagavad gita makes a great tattoo.
Here are some examples.

A few possibilities for a Sanskrit Tattoo
this Sanskrit Tattoo would be perfect for a sailor or a person who loves the ocean.
Krishna says in Bhagavad gita as it is,
10.24 -Of priests, O Arjuna, know Me to be the chief, Brhaspati, the lord of devotion. Of generals I am Skanda, the lord of war; and of bodies of water I am the ocean.
Chapter 10, Verse 20.
I am the Self, O Gudakesa, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings.
Chapter 16, Verse 1-3.
The
Blessed Lord said: Fearlessness, purification of one's existence,
cultivation of spiritual knowledge, charity, self-control, performance
of sacrifice, study of the Vedas, austerity and simplicity;
nonviolence, truthfulness, freedom from anger; renunciation,
tranquility, aversion to faultfinding, compassion and freedom from
covetousness; gentleness, modesty and steady determination; vigor,
forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, freedom from envy and the passion
for honor--these transcendental qualities, O son of Bharata, belong to
godly men endowed with divine nature.
