SELF TANNING MOISTURIZERS

Winter is almost here, and for most of us, our beautiful summer tans have completely faded by now. This year I am starting wit the "fake tans". But instead of going full blow with the tanning creams or sun beds I have put my money on the moisturizing self tanning creams.

Unlike the classical tanning creams, the new generation of self-tanning body milks and moisturizers are a great way to layer up your colour as you moisturise. A dash of tanning makes them ideal for all of us who would love a light glow, but don't want to go too dark, too quickly. With no risk of streaking, you can have a subtle, year-round glow.

I would recommend NutriBronze Visage by L'Oréal Paris at 11 Euros is a good buy. It is a fluid cream easy to apply. The body milk has an ingredient to help ease "orange-skin". The only disadvantage is that its perfume is very basic. You can even fin it in pocket format so it is easy to carry around in your handbag.

Also Sumer Body Moisturising Lotion, by Garnier at 9 Euros is an excellent buy. Its formula is enriched with oils and its perfume is very summery. It gives you a gradual summer glow, enabling you to build up your colour over time. It is easily absorbed, making it perfect for use after your morning shower. You can choose the moisturizer for fair skin or the one for naturally darker skin. The main disadvantage is that you will need to use it at least for one week before you notice any change in your colour. If you are in a hurry and you have fair skin, you can always use the darker skin formula!

I would also like to try Lait Hydratant Teint Hâlé by Shiseido. But the main disadvantage for this one is its price. At 30 Euros is too expensive for some of us. I have tried it in the shop, a lovely smell of flowers and a light texture. Its formula has a strong antioxidant giving a generous treat to your face. Used everyday, it promises a progressive tanning effect with a naturally golden shade .

Whatever the cream you decide to use, remember that the DHA content is less than in an ordinary self tanning cream so you will see the results only long term. However, you will need to rinse your hands very well after use otherwise you can end up with "yellowy" fingers around the nails.
