Today more people than ever are getting tattoos. From business men to teenagers. In days past it was common for people to try and give themselves tattoos. These tattoos never turned out very good. They used unsterilized equipment and the were generally uneducated. It's can be very dangerous to give yourself or your friends tattoos. At tattoo shops, they are properly equipped and trained to provide the safest tattos that you can get. Not to mention that you'll be much happier with the quality of artwork.

Professional tattoo shops have specialized equipment called autoclaves. These devices are basically large ovens that raise the temperature to a critical temperature for sterilizing the equipment. These licensed shops are also frequently inspected by the health department to ensure that they maintain the proper standards of safety and quality.

Regardless of the warnings, many people still are doing home tattoos. If you do decide to practice the art of DIY tattooing, it's important that you educate yourself as to the necessary safety rules and purchase good tattoo gun kits. The results will be much better than if you try to do it with a needle and printer ink.

Improper sanitizing of the equipment can lead to a number of medical problems, including but not limited to a multitude of infections, HIV, and hepatitis.

Needles should never be reused! It is always advised to leave the tattoing to licensed professionals.

Should you embark on the journey of becoming a licensed tatoo artist, there are a number of basic tattoo kits that one can purchase to get started. A quick Internet search reveals that these kits aren't too expensive.

Amazon.com has cheap tatoo kits for only $149! It comes with everything you need to get started. It also has a book on learning to tattoo. These inexpensive tatoo kits can be a great way to get started with proper supervision. You can find tatoo kits for sale on Amazon.com, Ebay, and many other online stores.

If you are interested in making a career out of tattooing. I would recommend reading several books on the topic. The Internet is a great way to gather information on tattooing but it generally only has snippets of information. When you read comprehensive books, they generally cover the topic much more thoroughly.

Should you decide to pursue tattooing, it can be a lucrative job. It's common for tattoo artists to make over $100 per hour.

On the other hand, many people will still choose to do their own tattoos. I urge these people to educate themselves as much as possible. Also, prepare yourself for the possibility that the results may not be as good as you would have hoped.

You're best friend or girlfriend may not be to happy with you if you mess up on their tattoo. Remember that you are learning. Be sure that the person helping you to learn understands that.

Never pose as a professional tattoo artist. If you do, you may just find yourself in some legal trouble if the recipient isn't happy with the tatto or gets an infection.

If you are serious about tattooing, I suggest that you look into the tattoo starter kits that are on the market. Another fun, if less permanent option are airbus tattoo kits. These can be fun for all and your mistakes are permanent.
