TCA Tattoo Removal
71Most people are familiar with laser tattoo removal. Some people are familiar with tattoo removal creams. Few people are familiar with TCA tattoo removal.
TCA tattoo removal is a very unique method of ridding oneself of a tattoo. TCA is an acronym for trichloroacetic acid. Don't let the word "acid" scare you. After all, the thought of putting acid on your skin can be a bit intimidating. Keep in mind that many substances are considered to be an "acid". Ever drink orange juice? Guess what is in it, "citric acid".
The TCA solution used for tattoo removal is a medically approved skin peeling agent. It has been deemed safe by the FDA to use in cosmetic applications.
TCA has been used for years in the cosmetic industry. You may have heard of health and beauty spas that offer chemical peels. Guess what you get if you sit down for this treatment? If you guessed a TCA treatment, you were correct. When you get a chemical peel, a solution of approximately 15% TCA is applied to the skin for about 15 or so minutes.
This treatment is beneficial for treating acne scarring, uneven pigmentation, blemishes, sunspots, fine wrinkles, damaged skin, and let's not forget removing tattoos.
When one receives a TCA treatment, the solution is applied to the skin which causes a mild peeling away of the top layers of skin. This skin usually peels away after about a week or so. The skin that is left behind is fresh, new, healthy skin.
When TCA is used for tattoo removal, a solution of between 12 and 25 percent of TCA is applied to the tattoo. This application results in a slight inflammation of the skin. The TCA then gently breaks the ink particles down. These particles then work their way to the surface of the skin and are removed from your body when the skin sheds. The body does the work as it naturally expels the peeling skin with the ink in it.
The process involves a few sessions of treatment. The number of treatments really depends on factors such as size of the tattoo, the ammount of ink in the tattoo, the depth of the ink, and the darkness of the tattoo. Faint, fine, outline tattoos will of course fade faster than deep black tribal type tattoos.
The most popular brand of a TCA tattoo removing product is Inkbusters. Inkbusters LLC is a company located in San Diego California. I have personally corresponded with the owner of Inkbusters. He is a cordial and well informed individual who is more than happy to answer your questions about removing your tattoo.
You can find TCA solutions in varying strengths. Caution should be used in buying concentrated bottles of TCA. The risk of getting the potency incorrect is very high. Buying from a company such as Inkbusters will ensure that you receive the proper instructions and percentage of TCA solutions. Not to mention, you will receive instructions and support from the manufacturer.
If your thinking about having a tattoo removed TCA tattoo removal may be for you.

TCA really does work. I tried it for the 1st time a few months back to finish fading three letters on my arm. I had already went through 3 treatments of laser removal but couldn't continue because of my RA medication. I found TCA on the inkbusters website, a little skeptical but I ordered it anyway. It actually faded more than I expected it to. I just applied another application, hopefully this will be the final app and will fade the rest of the tattoo completly.
