A SIGN OF GOD'S ANGER

During the last few days there have been reports of three different disasters, namely, cyclone in Burma (May 2008), earthquake in Sichuan province, China (May 2008) and lastly, the volcano eruption in Chaiten, Chile (May 2008). They foreshadow the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Matthew 24:3-7, the disciples of Jesus asked Him, "What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive you ...For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places (Mark 13:4-8; Luke 21:11).

"Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken because He was angry" (Ps 18:7).

Why was God angry? "For they provoked Him to anger with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their carved images" (Ps 78:58). "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness"(Rom 1:18).

INDIAN OCEAN TSUNAMI

The people are worshippers of images, false gods and are ungodly. Of the eleven nations involved in the Indian Ocean Tsunami, five of those who worship Islam are, namely, Indonesia, Somalia, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Maldives. The three nations of Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka worship Buddha. India is the only country who worship Hindu gods while Tanzania worship a mixture of religions and the last of the eleven nations, Kenya is a predominantly Christian country. Kenya lost only ONE person during the tsunami disaster. The total dead claimed was 228,603 plus.

CHINA QUAKES

China is an idol worshipping nation which prays to Buddha,

Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy who is actually a man but because of his gentle qualities is depicted as a woman.

Some of the biggest earthquakes in China in the last 30 years:

May 12, 2008 - Thousands of people are killed in Sichuan province alone after a 7.9-magnitude quake hit the region. The latest reported dead is 67,000 and counting.

Feb. 1996 - A quake measuring 7.0 wrecks scenic mountain town

of Lijiang in Yunnan, killing at least 304 people and injuring more than 16,000.

April 1990 - Earthquake measuring 6.9 kills 126 people in northwest Qinghai province.

July 1976 - At least 270,500 people die when an earthquake

measurIng 7.8 flattens the northern city of Tangshan.

GOD REVEALED TO APOSTLE JOHN

"Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven from the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!' And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath" (Rev. 16:17-19).

BURMA (MYANMAR)

The cyclone is equivalent to the tempest in the Bible which is

described in Job 27:20-21; Psalms 11:6; Isaiah 29:6; Amos 1:14.

Cyclone Nargis left more than 1.5 million people facing hunger and disease in its wake. Thousands lost their lives. 32,000 were estimated killed while International Agencies reported death to be 100,000.

VOLCANO ERUPTION - CHILE

Chaiten Volcano Summary:

"On Friday, May 2, 2008, Chaiten Volcano in southeastern Chile erupted for the first time since about 7400 BC. Its initial eruption produced a plume of volcanic ash and steam that rose nearly 17 kilometers high. Winds carried the plume east, over the Andes Mountains and into Argentina. The plume then drifted out over the over the Atlantic Ocean. It was visible on satellite images for hundreds of kilometers over the Atlantic."

The Chaiten volcano in Chile erupted on May 2, 2008. The volcano had been dormant for many thousands of years, actually 9,370 years. Ash spread for miles from Chile all the way to Argentina and the Atlantic Ocean. There are no reports of deaths or injuries, but evacuation is necessary and the government has declared the town of Chaiten off-limits. The Blanco and Raya Rivers have overflowed their banks. Chile and Indonesia have the world's largest share of volcanoes.

THE COMING OF THE LORD

"But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:37-39; Luke 17:26).

WARNING: BEWARE!

"By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet,

moved with fear prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the

righteousness which is by faith" (Hebrews 11:7).

We should take heed to the warnings of God lest we fall like those whose lives are taken away in an instant and lost forever in this world and the next.
