Within the Forest
Autumn Leaves

Within The Forest
By A. Gagliardi
The garden nymph and woodland Satyr
made love within the forest.
Upon the moss strewn rocks of shade
their twinned heads came to rest.
Through dappled trees, their love-born sighs
strolled on the summer breezes.
The gauze of silk she wore that day
was rent with love’s sweet squeezes.
Fluttering wings and rapid hearts played
music soft and mellow.
The rustling leaves cocooned their love
in hues of reds and yellow.
Late summer blossoms bust with joy
and spent their flower fragrance.
While Autumn’s chill whispered true
the poetry of romance.
