A Little Willow Grows

a little willow grows

I came across

as I walked by

to my delighted surprise

dear little willow

how did you get here?

dear little willow

please do not leave

dear little willow

did you float in with the wind

and chose your ground here?

what honor you bring me

my willow my dear

did kind hands bring you?

so you and I could be near?

my dear little willow

how you glow

your little branches

standing so strong

your little leaves

ride the waves from the wind

as your essence giggles

knowing quite well

my dear little willow

you already know

we bend with the wind

but we will not break

we welcome the rain

for we will not drown

dance with the thunder

for there is no fear

and we stand up to the sun

for we both know

we can handle it all

no matter what comes

you welcome the rain

you take it all as it comes
