A Poem Tribute: Remembering The Legend That Was Bob Marley
A Poem Tribute: Remembering The Legend That Was Bob Marley
One Love
He was an island son, named Robert Nesta
Bob Marley, the dreadlock rasta
Majestic mane pranced like tentacles across his shoulder
Who the 'eck did they think he was? He was a buffalo soldier
They say he shot the sheriff, the world catch a fire
Trench town rocked, and the flame spread higher
Spiritual Ethiopian devoted Rastafarian
His reggae beats, pure native Jamaican
The lion's cub roared, and the world danced
He touched our hearts and left us entranced
His easy skanking enthralled a generation
Opening hearts with his positive vibration
Triumphantly, he captured the imagination
Freeing our minds with his songs of redemption
He knew what life was worth; he saw the light
All too soon, came the call to give up the fight
His mission concluded, Natty dread flew home
Jamaica bends down low for one of its own
But they lively up themselves in one love
Because, this is love!
He's gone, but everything is gonna be alright
He's making sweet music up there tonight
See the three little birds flying high in the sky
Ride Natty Ride, shake your locks as you pass by
And no woman, no cry
No woman; no cry
