A chess game played
with us as pawns
by the ones unseen
who control us all

Who decide what we
are allowed to know
strategically chosen
which way we go

Lived by those
who own us all
the ones who allow us
to stand or fall

But the game is not
completely done
for the end
has yet to come

An interesting game
this can be
this chess game played
with you and me

For what they did
really not foresee
was a better player
on a winning spree

So let them think
that they can win
a poker strategy
to make them spin

To make them desperate
in their moves
