All That Was
In a moment, just a second
All that spins and turns just stops
A universal pause is granted
For all that what was and now is not
Light and airy laughter
Bubbling from our hearts
A home filled with conversations
Our family not yet torn apart
Tomorrow was uncertain
Yet it was nothing to be feared
Youthful ignorance was plenty
Pillows not yet stained in secret tears
Our hearts were free and light
Not yet heavy with sorrow and despair
Now we carry all that is not with us
And all that was, it’s no longer there.
