Always Last

I have a life

but you would not know it

by the way they decide for me

what to do

and where to be.

I have things I want to do

places to go

and people to see.

They call and ask me

to do this or that

take care of this

and worry about that

for everyone but me.

No one knows

the sacrifices I make

the plans set aside

to dismiss myself

to help those in need

to help those who know one else sees.

They need me

I will be here

doing what is asked

a constant rock

where no other exists.

Yes, I have a life

but you would not know it

by the way I don’t say no

or complain about what I got to do,

never uttering a word about how

I shouldn't be

always last.

Love this! I'm sure a lot of women can relate! Me?!? I so don't have a life.

I feel like this from time to time, until the moment passes.
