Beauty That Never Fades
Simple Love
I sit here and reflect on many times we have shared over the years
So special so sweet
I can't pick out just one time
Because they are like a bouquet of the prettiest roses
A sunshine that wakes you up when you are sleeping
A warm blanket that comforts you when you are tired
A good meal that fills your stomach when you are hungry
Understanding her love is something I will always try to figure out
Mothers do not just do because they have to
Then go far beyond any limit
They do because they want to
Always caring when we are at our weakest point
Supporting us when we need help
Letting go when they know
It is time
To watch us go on our own
As they patiently wait
To see what we have learned and forgotten
Still helping after all these years
Giving more when we don't even know
This is one time
I wish I could do for you what you did for me
Once again I come up short
Missing you and thinking what would you be doing
Then I listen as you would say
In a soft voice with so much meaning
Celebrate and do not waste each precious moment
For we all have our place and time
To be born and mine was April 30th 1929
I had my life
Where I also made many mistakes and was far from perfect
Remember if your heart is in the right place
Life is so much simplier and nobody can stop you
Yes this was my birthday and I would of turned eighty four
So you go out and have some fun
I will be watching and laughing with you
Because that is what mothers do
Love their family unconditionally for eternity
