Black Coils
I.
The black snake
coiled its sleek
body like a shackle
around my arms
its tongue lashed
my wrists like
the silver sliver
of your pale lips
you shed your skin
as you slithered around
my lifeless body
drawing me near
your teeth pierced
the vein of my neck
you danced in the warmth
of crimson as it stained
the white from your flesh.
II.
Our kisses built old steeples
that reached the
dawning sky
and fell at our feet.
Our tumultous steps,
our heavy breaths
sucked up
what life was left
in the dim light of passing time.
