Broken Home

Source

Glass

Crashes

Breaks

Falling to the floor

Darkness comes

No sunlight anymore

Your words penetrate

Me like a sword to my core

Unsteady tides

The corners of this home

Hide many secrets

That are never willing to be told

Sharp lies

Spinning the nest

Weaving into a house built

On anger and hate

Not willing to be released

The toxic tongue

Stings more than anything else

Draining my power away

Leaving everything for dead

Weakened hearts

Cannot be

Overturned

Desperation comes to mind

Escaping into another world

Another time

Where pleasant dreams

Lay close at hand

Where fantasies make way

To foreign lands

If only to escape and go

Far away

Maybe to survive

Just yet

Another day

Voted up and awesome! Every word expresses emotion. Reminded me of that Monkees song - when I wanted sunshine I got rain...

Strong poem. I hope the words helped you to release some of that pent up energy. Loved the power of it. :)

A broken home is so very sad. You were able to capture the essence of pain. Beautifull written..

Beautiful words, Caroline, to hopefully help, and ease the pain of so many broken homes.

Ive got nothing snappy or clever to say, no snappy retort, or zingy banter.

Great job - Ive been silenced....
