Close my eyes ... a love poem
Why is that when I close my eyes
Your face is all I ever see
Why does the sound of your cries
Forever haunt me
Limbs entwining in a dreamtime
That can never be real
But in the darkness you are mine
Your touch all I feel
Hearts beating to the ancient dance
As forbidden desire ignites
Locked together in a breathless trance
Trapped by sweet delights
Bodies move bathed in candlelight
Trembling with sensations
Surrendering to the sweetness of the night
Lost in passions sweet temptation
Arching into each other’s touch
Aching with denied need
To a fantasy I desperately clutch
Fate cruel to my plead
Why do dreams of you consume my mind
Your voice all I hear
What is this closing bind
That fills my heart with tears
Breath filled with love and life
As the dream never ends
Despite promising to be another’s wife
I am in love with my best friend
