Dear Elvis-Please play my Friend a Melody
A friend of mine, named Tonya has left to be with you.
The dearest kind heart and gracious soul you’ll ever want to know.
She really loves your music and every act you’ve played,
But most of all she loves you for the kindness that you gave.
People never forget good deeds shared among their brothers.
They don’t forget going way out to encourage good in others.
Please play my friend a melody that only you can do,
As the golden gates come open she’ll be in awe by you.
You are a memory kept by millions close to their grieving heart.
My heart grieves way too much as my loved ones will depart.
But please know with all my plans to someday meet you, too.
I am good for now just to think you have my friends with you.
Say hello to mom and dad and my husband, Bill,
Tell my brother we still miss him and we always will.
