My Lucky Number Today?

Updated on May 3, 2015

My Family Likes The Number 8!

For a long time people have found some numbers that are considered lucky to themselves or to groups of people. I never believed in lucky numbers, not sure if I do now. But the number 8 has a lot of meaning for me and some of my family members. What makes a number lucky? I guess it is considered lucky if you have used it to gain happiness or prosperity or has given you happiness in one way or another.

In my family we like the number 8 because I and my two brothers were born 8 years apart. And our daughters were born 8 years apart. I also was born in August which is the 8th month and on the 28th. My age now is 48- wow maybe this is my lucky year! Or not. We will have to w-eight and see. So, you may be asking yourself or me what have you gained from the number 8? The answer is up to now not much of anything.

There is something about the way an 8 is shaped that I like. Is it because if you turn it on its side, it stands for infinity? Maybe, but it is just plain aesthetically pleasing to me. My daughter plays on a sports team at her high school and she is always trying to get the number 8 because she now has the idea that it stands for something to us and to our family. Sometimes she gets it, sometimes not, but she always tries to get any form of 8 that is available. She might try to get 18,28 etc. or maybe even 16,24, etc. to try to bring her luck.

Although the number 8 has not made me wealthy, it has brought a lot of joy and fun into my family. Whenever the opportunity to choose a number in a game or anywhere else it might come up, we are always trying to be first to claim the number 8. But there are also many things that Iam glad I don't have 8 of. Like 8 children! I do love children, but to have 8 would be quite a lot to handle! Or how about 8 pets, or 8 fingers! Well maybe 8 fingers would be cool, but a little weird.

This issue came into my mind today because my Hubpages have 8 hubs (before this one) and I have 8 people following me up to today. As well as I think I made 8 cents from my hubs up to my 48th birthday! So what could the number possibly hold in store for me in the future? I don't know, but I will be sure to try to use it to bring me luck any chance I get. With a little luck maybe I will be up to 16 hubs and followers soon! A fortune of 8s would be gr-eight.

So, that is my story of the number 8. Was it great? feel free to rate it. Do you have a lucky number? What is the significance to you or your family? Is numerology a science or can we really use lucky numbers to our benefit. I think it's all just for fun and to put my trust in my future on luck or lucky numbers is not realistic, I know. But, as long as it keeps me entertained I will still always feel lucky with the number 8! I am just waiting for my 8 million dollars or 16 million? Let me know how you feel about lucky numbers and what they mean to you.
