Doing What We Have To Do
Sometimes It Isn't Easy
Life is like a huge ball
Being tossed in every direction
We bounce high sometimes
Other times we just roll along
Even the small bounces will take us to somewhere new
We slide over the grass that is smooth
Take our chances on gravel
Where the sharp edges could harm us
In the wind we travel fast
Gaining speed and lifting us higher
When it rains we get washed
Unless we are sitting in the dirt
They we get pretty messy
Through it all we have made it
Each time enjoying the purpose which we were made
When our life gets busy
Just hang in there
Taking one day at a time
We know it will get slow hopefully sooner than later
Then we can relax
Many people are constantly juggling work and school
Trying to pay their bills and learn more to better themselves
Other people may be working two jobs just to make ends meet
While parents struggle raising their children with work schedules and doctors appointments
Young couples working hard saving up for their first house or marriage
Unfortunately some people deal with minor to major health issues
Facing new problems and struggles every day
I am blessed
To be here to share my day and my life with you
Fortunately I have more good days than bad
I have had my own battles in the past
Now I can relax and appreciate how hard I have worked
Facing each situation
A little different than the next
Rising and falling
Enjoying the greatest pleasures life has to offer
Finding time to do the things I love
Enjoying each moment as it comes
Looking back and reflecting on the good and the bad
Now looking ahead to a bright future
Deciding new choices
Taking the road less traveled
Listening to my heart
Beating quietly at this very moment
Where all things begin and end
Appreciating all I have as long as I can
