Each Day, A Gift

Each Day, A Gift

Some days are conundrums
that leave me a bit dazed.
Some are dressed in wonder
that leave me in awe, amazed...

Some are quite the challenge
that wear my patience thin...
Some are made for dancing
to celebrate within.

Some are like the garden,
with seeds and soil and such.
Some are like a chalk board,
and requires eraser's touch.

But one thing is for certain,
Each one a priceless gift
that merits each its effort...
and Love that knows no thrift...

That not a one be wasted,
regardless of its fare...
Each an opportunity
to make of life a prayer.

Your beautiful poem reminded me of a recent, very special poem with an incredible video by Genna East called, "In Memory of Trees ... A Music Poem." It made me cry. I want you to know that you are like that for me, and no, not old, but timeless, a wonderful, strong, secure part of my life I need to always be there...

I wonder if you speak in elegant rhymes? If they ever make a movie about you, that will have to be the case. Like in, say, a movie about George Washington, they would use passages from his writing as actual lines of dialogue. You would speak only in snippets from you poetry. What fun that would be!

Your comment made me smile, Doug, I hate to tell you but I write much more elegantly than I speak! lol But it would certainly be a challenge to speak in snippets from my poems! I always enjoy your visits! Thanks!

Lovely piece tnderhrt23, if only all could grasp the concept what a perfect world it would be? :-)

mum, thank you. The term "perfect world" strikes me as an oxymoron, since it is full of humans! (smile) Hugs!

Ahhh Tender. You have to have faith that we can change the human part...maybe not to perfect, but damn close! :)

I love that word tnderhrt23,oxymoron,sums up most of the people I know! :-)

Tndr- My world is FAR from being perfect, but as i go about picking up the pieces, I can only hope that it is a better place for my having been here, and thus I soldier on. lol -Paul

Paul, It is always a joy to see you. No accidents in God's world...I got a message about an hour ago that my youngest sister's husband died this morning at the age of about 42...and responding to your comment, I reread this write...You hit on a critical piece of truth...that as we go about Life as it presents, that we try and make the world a better place through our presence, for we never know when we will be called to account. If Life were "perfect" there would be no challenge, no learning, no need for God or each other...and "soldiering" on is what its all about, my friend. Take good care and don't be so hard on yourself. We are all evolving. Take good care and cherish the gift! Hugs!

Tndr- Sorry to hear about your brother in law, may his soul rest easy with a life well lived. Thank you for the words of encouragement and strength. -Paul

Plarson, thank you. He was a "good man" and will be greatly missed. You, Paul, are a "good man" also, with a good heart. I have not met many, but the ones I have met, soar as eagles above the rest. Embrace and nurture that part of you, my friend. Share that heart with the world, and you cannot help but make this world a better place by your presence!

Thank you, bbnix, for your sensitive comment. My sister and her sons will need much prayer to deal with this huge loss. You are also a "good man" with a "good heart" and I want you to know I appreciate you.
