Facets Of Verse
VIII.
Upon a hill
I climbed one day
By accident
I found my soul
And recognized it
Instantly.
I could have
Just as easily
Missed it
And gone
Another way.

Life astounds me!
How beautiful!
How full!
And here am I
To live it!

Life,
I accept
On its own terms!
Who are these
Rejecting it
And calling
Their rejection,
"Life"?

Lifted ~
I watch an earthworm fly
When I become aware of sky
And see the relativity!
Nor do I care
Just where
I'm found in it.
It is.
I am.
That is profound enough.
My tears are ecstasy!

If I told you my soul
And you
Answered me,
"Tomato bugs",
I'd like it better
Than Shakespeare
Out of context!

Was I the one
Who thought of
This
and
That,
Decimals, digits,
Even rainbows rising,
Moonbeams falling
In the sea?
Was my awareness
Numbed
Or bundled into parcels,
Neatly labeled
To obscure
My desperation,
Vainly seeking unity?
Was that REALLY me?
