False Sighting

False Sighting

Hope gave you the strength

to keep on fighting,

then the detective calls,

it was to tell you of a false sighting,

hope falls,

when a ninety-three year old man

with failing eyesight claimed

to have seen the missing girl

walking in the rain,

wearing her yellow rain-coat

enter the park play-ground,

praying to be found,

the detective shrugged,

his own emotions, shattered and mugged,

as he only offered the old man

a simple nod, like deadpan,

the false sighting led nowhere,

the parents would continue living in fear,

fresh thoughts forced their way

to the surface that day,

those thoughts continued to repeat,

but there was nothing concrete.

With all the people in the world, I never understood why someone chooses to live with the person who loathes them enough to bruise them.

The other poem lives in the place that my mind can't go. It's my limitation.

I know I couldnever put my hand on a person I lay in bed with.. well if I were to end up in jail I'd beat on everyone who tried to lay in bed with me.. yeah?

Your words paint a vivid picture. You have described the cycle of domestic violence abuse. Many weak-minded women claim that they're in love. some are in denial and believe that the abuser will change. many women have very low self-worth and have no financial means to support themselves. other women live in fear that if they say anything to anyone, the abuser will just kill them and family. It's a vicious cycle of power and control followed by apologies, flowers, candy canes and then the abuse starts all over again.

Thank you. Business Insider just recently came out with "The 25 Most Dangerous Cities in America" list based on 2010 FBI statistics for violent crimes including murder, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault, per 100,000 people. the state made the list—twice! So sad what happened in Connecticut. There is so much evil out there. and to think that this can happen anywhere in the world, it's frightening! Do you own a gun Frank? lol
