Grief - A Poem
It grips your heart with its iron fist
And squeezes out every drop of love
That once coursed through your body;
Every ounce of joy you once felt;
Every moment of peace you once had.
Help for those who grieve
It reaches into the very depths of your soul
And tears out the life you once lived,
Replacing it with hopelessness and despair
It blinds you with hatred and rage;
Knocks you to your knees, and
Sucks the very breath from your lungs,
Leaving you begging for the grave
