Heaven Has Drenched You With Its Beauty. To Akriti Mattu
One look at You, and the Heart melts.
Heaven has drenched You with Its beauty;
Decorated Your sweet curls with braids,
Woven from the finest silk.
Deep within we blend,
Like the butterfly and the caterpillar.
We dine on silvery clouds;
Sail to the edge of the moonlit glow.
Please do not tell me that we’re parting,
For my world will collapse.
When a wound is touched, it hurts.
How can the inner wound of separation,
Ever become bearable?
If You should leave, my Beloved,
I’ll sail on storm- tossed oceans,
Serenade the moon to bring You down.
My quest for Your sweet touch;
That deep alluring gaze,
Is beyond parallel, and the tide of yearning
Tears at my garments, until I have,
Only my nakedness for protection.
I wish to be a pawn to the rough winds;
A slave to the turbulence,
Beating against a lovelorn heart.
Only to be tied and lashed with Love,
By Thy sweet silhouette of enchanting fire.
I know, I know, that Heaven
Has drenched You with Its beauty;
Dressed You in fine drapes;
Covered You with golden raiment.
She has adorned and bedecked Thy Form,
With sweet garlands of the most expensive fragrances.
How I long to swoon at Your delicate feet,
Become – as it were – like a doll of salt,
Only to bathe in Your Delight, and
Melt in the ambrosia of Your Sweetness.
