I Am Just Waking Up
How Many People Know This Feeling ?

Give me a minute
I know life is a tornado and I am in the middle of it
Can't it wait
My eyes aren't even open
Some people need their first cup of coffee in the morning
I need a kiss
The weather we will deal with
Car trouble ?
We will get it fixed
I have a few unexpected aches and pains
My mother use to tell me wait till you get old
You will feel sore for no reason at all
You just have to work through it
They don't always go away
You just have to do it
For the most part I am extremely healthy
Age has a way of creeping up and settling in
Ah my back
Ouch as my feet touch the floor
My neck is sore
Oh my arm
Wow that really hurts
As I move my fingers into my muscle
Thinking I can work the pain out
That within a few minutes it will be forgotten
As if magic
Well it use to work when I was younger
Now I am distracted by my knee that popped
At the moment
Walking with a limp is kind of funny
Looking past the bags under my eyes from lack of sleep
Well today is going to be a great day
Why?
Because I am alive
Everything else in my life is gravy
Like extras on a turkey dinner
They all our delicious and make the meal
You have to start with the main course
So I am the turkey
I wonder if that is a good or bad thing
Either way I wonder how your day is going ?
Are you just crawling out of bed ?
Did you roll over for an extra ten minutes ?
Did you bounce out of bed like Tigger ?
My day is probably a lot like yours
Busy and busier as the day gets in full swing
I can just imagine a family of five
All different ages
With three kids all wanting different things
As I rub the sleep out of the corner of my eye
Then rub my eyes again
Trying everything I can to get moving
I am going to follow my cat
She got up hours ago
Sitting by the slider watching carefully
As her day gently tickles her whiskers
With the chilly fresh air
She is excited to be here
So am I
I have to get going
One hour just flew by
