I Am Not Awake Yet
My Alarm Goes Off Music Playing
Slowly my body stirs
My head buried deep in my pillow
A quick chill travels
Arms reaching to pull up the blankets under my chin
I see the icy snow through my window
The newsman reminds me it is 5 below
If going outside dress warm
Luckily I have to go nowhere
So I plan staying right here
Spending my day reading hubs
The sun shines across the pine trees
Tricking us to believe
It's nicer than you think
My mind searching for it's next thought
Even my lap top is lagging behind
Each word seems to be in limbo
Delayed and hesitant
How do we pull it all together
Overriding the little setbacks that hold us back
Seeing more good
Even though it is hidden at the moment
I am going to feed my body
In return pamper my mind
Giving more time to focus
Bringing back a history of great feelings and thoughts
Rebooting if you will
To trigger my imagination to kick in
Making today a little more lovely
When it is so easy
To just crawl back in bed and pull my covers over my head
