I GET THIS IDEA: A Poem About A Passion For Writing
I spend hours
Just sitting in my room
Writing down ideas
Watching them bloom.
I get this idea
And it seems so right
Sometimes I'm tired
So I put up a fight
Cuz I get this idea
And I could write all night.
I can't stop until
My ideas are all gone
Then I fall asleep
Until dawn
When I awake
I remember
My ideas are on paper
Some are so clever, and
They're mine to keep forever.
There is so much I want to tell you
Important things I'm compelled to say
I write them down on paper
So I can tell you some day.
When something is on your mind
And you need to set it free
Just write it down on paper
You'll feel better, you'll see.
It gives me such a good feeling
To express myself this way
When I am in the mood
I could write all day.
I get this idea
And off I go
Writing, writing
And I can't go slow.
I spend so many hours
Just sitting in my room
Writing down ideas
And watching them bloom.
I wrote this poem on August 6, 1987, before I owned a computer :) OMG, almost 25 years ago! Hmmmm . . . things have changed since then but I still keep a pen and paper on my night stand :) sms
