'I Like Nature Better': A Poem
by D Shannahan
The way that the birds swoop and drift through the air
Just without a care
To the people thats there.
The waves and the tides seemingly paying no mind
To the money and cruise lines,
The husbands and wives.
The running against time-
Just the rows of the lines
Left aside kelp and ocean grass pushed in my mind...
The sand stirred up in the surf not complaining not one time
And the sun a shine for plant and beast alike not picking sides.
