I WILL ABIDE
'Tis Winter there where you reside
Outside all is white with a snowy glow
The sun rarely peaks behind a cloud
And hearts no longer beat to a loving sound
‘Tis Summer here where I live proud
The air is thick with the sun’s perfume
In crowds where people are all in tune
A heat wave covers like a mother’s shroud
‘Tis cold there where life moves slow
With icy words that come and go
From chattering teeth that have lost their glow
And fingers touch but are too numb to know
‘Tis tiresome here with damp skin a- glow
With every ray of light that pierces my soul
I weep and worry from losses incurred
From your long lost heart buried deep in snow.
‘Tis Winter there where you reside
Until the chilly ice melts – I will abide.
