I 'll Be Darn
For Those Who Remember
When today has no bearing on yesterday
It seems that the past is over and nobody cares but me
When being treated unfair is accepted
Bury the hatchet and move on
Easy to say it is not your back that holds it firm
Mistakes were made and peope suffer
There will never be a right or justice served
Some things our bigger than us
We have to forget and remember not to fuss
When are heart aches and our mind repeats the day over and over again
Like a bug itch that won't go away
A cut that you pick that scab and won't let it heal
I know better but it drove me crazy
I couldn't take it anymore
I had enough
Why can't I skip over this aggrivating part of my life
Move on to a better time
Let go of all the emotional burden
Years of frustration bottled up
Our minds can play that faithful day
Like Gilligan's Island where we get shipwrecked and can't get off that island
No matter how hard we try
All we can do is laugh at our mistakes and then cry
We feel the pain and now it is time to let it pass by
Look around you and see what is real
Pinch your cheek as hard as you can
Ouch that smarts now why did I do that again
To bring me to the present and stop that old loop that retraces every detail
It was a long time ago
This might take awhile
PInching my cheek again
Hey cut that out
That is stupid
Well I have to understand so is repeating the past that is like pouring salt in every wound
Why can't you see it
Why do I do it
I have my flaws
I can't move on when I won't let go
So I will try every trick in the book
To shake the bad and find the good
What have I learned is so much more important
To endure and keep walking forward
It is not how we go but where we are going
I'm sorry what just happened here
I am willing to accept all that has happened and not get revenge
No the slate is wiped clean and we are free to go
Concentrate on learning new things and find a good emotion that triggers more great thoughts
It is time to let the wild bird go
I know it is cute and we had fun taking care of it
Let it fly away and be free it deserves that privelege
We have no right to keep it caged
The same way are old pain is locked up in a cell
Unlock the lock with the key
Open the door
Your free to go and don't come back no more
