Is There Time To Catch My Breath ?

The day started early and from that moment on I have been in a race

What can I finish first then on to my next chore at hand

No that is going to take to long it can wait

I know I will water the grass and flowers

As I start I am getting bit already so now my only option is cover myself with bug spray

I know I will wait till later then I can get a shower at night and stay clean all day

The sun will be down and maybe there will be no bugs at all

I have to go to the post office to send a package and get it weighed

I will probably get insurance on it even though I would only loose thirty dollars if it gets lost

It is the point

Once I don't get the insurance it goes into postal heaven and is never seen again

It is only a few dollars for a piece of mind

Time after time I could have saved my money and taken my wife out for one big ice cream sundae

Off to get gas and now prices have come down a little bit

I am actually excited paying $3.73 a gallon

I have to be out of my flipp'n mind

I think I have a bargain when the news said gas prices might hit $5.00 a gallon by summer

Now that is like getting a sunburn the first time and having it last all summer

Every time you move you ache and complain and no one else seems to care

Now that this is done it is the time where I would pick up the kids and take them to the doctors

Since my children are only the four legged ones I happily bring them to the vet

I bring up the cat carrier from the cellar for the fiesty one

Now I wonder what trouble they are going to give me

I want to wipe it out first and put a towel in it just in case she messes or throws up

Which has happened in the past and when they roll in it it is a real mess

As I set it on the floor our kitten curious as she can be wants to climb inside

So I make her wait and wait and wait some more then open it and in she goes

Now that was as easy as putting an apple pie in the oven

In you go and now that was fun

My kitten got all comfortable and made herself right at home

Now I have an older cat his name is Daryl

I hold him in my arms the whole time he usually puts up no trouble

I call his name and he has done this routine one time too many

He flys under the bed

Great now he goes where I can't reach him

So I go to reach under and move a few things around

Oh this is where my left slipper went

There are my wifes pajama bottoms tucked way in back

How did they get there ?

Oh now I remember

That is another story

So I pat him a little and coax him forward

He is not budging so I give him the one two three scoop

Everything is going to be alright

Mommy and daddy just want to make sure you both stay healthy and have no problems

So I sit in the back of the car my wife drives and off to the vet we go

I have both the cat and the kitten looking at each other

Maybe that will keep them calm

My wife says sure tease our kitten Charette

Daryl is saying look at me I am free and your all locked up

No they just are happy to be together and don't you start any trouble

They can hear you

Let's see this day will be about $140.00 before we are done

We get there they take us right away

Daryl just lays on the scale and is just hanging out

No problems with either

The older cat is down a half a pound and the youngest is up a pound

After shots and all that good stuff

Drum roll please.......$198.00

I know what was wrong with my balance I didn't figure in $58.00 for inflation

Blame it on gas prices

Well with that done we can come back in one year

Just think honey if they were real kids they would have cost us 10 times as much during the course of the year

Now we can go out and celebrate on our great savings

So we went out to a different resturant and we split a dinner special

It was very good and then later came home to rest

A little computer and t.v. time

We ate a late snack since we were full since lupper(a lunch and supper combined)

I forgot to mention we ate breakfast and skipped lunch

I found time to fix the pond pump that needed a filter and spout

I improvised and used some old tubing downstairs

A little big but that is when I duct taped it

Love tha t zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzduct tape

That was me cutting off a piece to fit

It fits perfectly

Until tomorrow when I see it sink to the bottom of the pond

I am Mr.Fix it for a day and after that I have no gurarantee

So did I mention the plants and grass all got watered

I only got two bites

We put out our new cordless bug zapper that works good I think

It doesn't make a sound even when the bugs are zapped thats no fun

The bugs fall into a tray underneath we shall see

Well that's all the water in the well for now before it goes dry

The only thing dry is my mouth from talking too much
