It's Snow Time
When All I Can See Is White
I have seen snow all my life
Don't you think I would get tired of what other people call a white mess
Not me I think its cool and fresh
To see the snow cover every spot how magical is that
It is like someone made even the dirtiest thing clean
The snow kills germs people say
So that can mean no cold or flu for you
The snow starts to accumulate
Five or six inches and the ground no longer exsists
Trees become huge white statues that glisten in the light
I just love to watch the kids play
They run and jump
They don't get hurt because it's like they have wonderful white cushions under their butts
Sure I have to scrape the car windows clean and clear a pathway to walk and the car to drive
The beautiful winter landscape quickly hypnotizes me
Even an old barrel looks like a great ball of snow
How everything looks so different from just hours ago
It's like taking pictures of another world that has the temperature turned down a notch
Sometimes the wind will blow and leave snow drifts surprises
They are wild hills of snow that are soft and fluffy
That rise sometimes over our heads
We see animal tracks and become instant imaginary hunters
To see what wild animal visited our home
When we notice the tracks just end
We laugh and off we go to shovel the deck or the stairs that lead to a snow palace
There is no sign that we ever shoveled it before
Like a big eraser everything is wiped clean again
Dressed warm bundled up in a winter jacket a hat and gloves is a must
Even the air we breath seems fresher
We have been given a small taste of winter and more to come
I will soon go in my house and have my first cup of hot chocolate that will warm my insides
But nothing will ever change the happiness that the snow provides
