Jobs Well Done: A Tribute Poem

Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected. - Steve Jobs
Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected. - Steve Jobs

The Times They Are A-Changin' by Bob Dylan

Every so often fate sees fit to gift the world with one person capable of looking to the past, shaping the present and altering our future as well as our minds
Artists, inventors, scientists, writers, musicians, business tycoons and entrepreneurs
They have a way of immersing themselves into the lifeblood of society and rewriting its DNA
If ever it was believed that one person couldn't change the world, Steve Jobs was one person who proved them wrong.

Jobs' adoptive father taught him the fundamentals of electronics and how to work with his hands
It was with those hands that the Apple icon would mold the future of both business and technology
In his early years he divided a love affair between computers and spiritual enlightenment
Both technology and spirituality formed a duality that would eventually be stitched back together in the form of a Mac computer with proportionally spaced fonts and various typefaces.

The world's first Macintosh computer fell from the tree in the year 1984 amidst a phenomenal fervor
The success catapulted Jobs to the status of genius and visionary, all before Jobs resigned from Apple and founded his second company, NeXT Computer
In the following years Jobs went on to lead us light-years ahead in computer technology with careful attention to aesthetics
It was during this time that Steve worked with Pixar and Disney to deliver a host of highly successful CGI films.

Yo-Yo Ma plays the prelude from Bach´s Cello Suite No. 1

In 1996, Jobs returned to his roots at Apple and become iCEO
Soon the world would regard the letter "I" as the single most sophisticated and revered letter in the English language
iPod, iTunes, iPhone and the iPad
The world was enthralled by all things Apple, their products became unequaled and one of the pillars of technological perfection

Although Steve Jobs has passed, his legacy and multiple contributions have been forever etched into the tomes of time
He plucked an apple from the Tree of Knowledge and offered it to the world
He gave us entertainment, information, innovation and modernization
He created a path where there was none and blazed a trail to glory
He will be missed.
