Kings and Queens
Kings and queens
on pillars
echoing memories
to flagstones.
Saying
if temples
are of solid stone;
new houses
are of dust.
Behind mirrors
survive archaic shadows
where valor still exists
as a mere shape
of events behind time,
which streams whisper
to rivers
and are lost
to the ponds
and lakes.
Knights and warriors
still wage battles
while
their simple laughter
trickles out of time
to long forgotten
kings and queens.
