Let The Leaves Fall
They Land Where They May
If I was a leaf I would hang on
I would watch other leaves drop
As they slide by me
Watching them sail in the air
I would wave a friendly hi
Looking down I could see piles of leaves beneath me
As the wind blows I would move side to side
Then up and down
Sometimes spinning around
I would be the strongest leaf
When other leaves get raked in piles and scooped into bags
I would wave good bye
As the rain hits my leaf and runs off my back
I remember many times before this has happened
Leaving me wanting for more
I can't wait till the white snow comes
Covering me head to toe
Then when the temperature drops
I will look like a freeze pop
When the Winter is over and Spring returns
I will see new leaves grow
I can't wait to tell them what I have seen
The stories I will be able to tell
The adventures that I have experienced
So next time you look up in the sky
If you see a leaf hanging on
That is me
I may be singing my favorite song
Hang on Sloopy
