It was never written in stone

But I know down to the bone

God created you and me

Out of love for eternity

Even when there are days

That seem out of balance

And in a haze

Love To ~ Live To ~ Give To

Is my phrase

All you need is love

Said the dove

Who sat in the tree and stared at me

As I pondered life and wondered which was the right key

"To love the life you lead is the key",

Said the homeless man that walked the street

"Live to Give", is what he mumbled

As he continued to pass by in a stumble

Pondering the words I heard,

As I stared back at the bird

Who continued to stare at me

As if to say, "You have got all that you need"

I walked home in a daze,

Thinking of my day

The dove in the tree

The homeless man that walked by like a breeze

It dawned on me, that they too have everything they need

Both man and bird are given life to learn

Who am I to question this life term

Love To ~ Live To ~ Give To

Is my phrase

As I returned to the same spot the very next day

Bringing snacks to share with the dove and the man

A simple expression of love

As I felt God smile from above
