Love is not a metaphor it’s a feeling therefore it cannot be denoted to be represented by nothing else but emotions.

Someone asked me “What is the key to world communication?” I thought for a moment and then replied, “Love is the key.” That love opens the mind and heart for people of the world to sit down together and discuss how to solve their problems. Love in my estimation helps each one of us to try and see the worth of every individual. It helps us to see beyond the race, religion and financial status of the person. Love is that which dissolves all mental barriers in thought between people. When I see the people questioning president Obama’s courtesy to President Chavez, I wondered if they realized that the key to world communication begins with hands shakes
What is love? For one, love has been misinterpreted, misused and miscalculated for hundreds of years. I like the definition of love by Doctor Scott Peck in his book “The Road Less Traveled” where he states, “Love is the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth.” To me love is a sentiment of joy. When I think of the statement “love deprivation,” the picture of children who are raised by uncaring parents comes to mind. The child needs food for the body, but most important of all he needs love. Love is that which tells the child that he is valuable, that he is a person of worth. If only parents could realize that the baby, the child, as it grows, hungers for that vital food of love. He doesn’t know how to ask for it. He only knows that there is an emptiness within him, which needs to be filled.
Many people think they know what or who love looks like, so they give love a stereotyped form and they look for it in that special form. They don’t realize that love comes in many ways, many sizes and all different shapes. So if we look for love to come in just one aspect, we will miss love because it may be coming from another direction or in another way. Because love in its true substance has no form, it can use any living creature, animal or human to speak to us. And if we are alert, we can receive its message and appreciate its warming effect. Sometimes when a little child smiles at me, I see love there, when a cat I don't know from no where caresses my legs, I see love there and when I see a beautiful flower, to me it represent love. After giving it lots of thought, I have arrived at the conclusion that love is everywhere.
Everyone wants to find someone to love and to be loved. Sometimes we think we have found that person and after loving that person, we learn that it is not going to last. We then have to go through the emotional period of letting go of that person. It tears at the heart. Then you meet someone who you feel good with, but you are afraid to let yourself hope too quickly, because you might again be disappointed and have to go through another heart-rending experience. With myself, I did not like to go through the emotional scene of parting from my previous partner, but if I could go through this experience with her, accepting the sweetness of it and ending with the bitterness of parting, knowing what I know now, I would not undergo this experience again. I feel that one has to listen to their heart and if the heart speaks strongly, to temper it with a bit of wisdom, do what makes your heart happy. I do not feel that I have all the answers and I do not tell people how to govern their lives, I can only tell them how I see life from my hopefully broadening perception.
The human being has two selves; one is external and the other internal. They each need different types of food to maintain their existence. The external self needs regular food like meat, vegetables and so forth, but the life of the internal self is sustained by love. If the internal is not fed by love it slowly starts to deteriorate, and if this lack of love continues, a vital part of the internal self will be obliterated. The human being will still be living to all appearances, but will be incomplete. This doesn’t mean lost of intelligence, but they have lost a substantial part of themselves, which would have helped them function on a spiritual level. Without love you cannot grow spiritually, you will always remain at a mental material state. Only love completes the human being. And for me, love for my daughter is what’s makes me complete.
The infinite heart of Love beats lovingly and affectionately for all creation. The only heart that we have is a microcosm of the macrocosm, The Great Heart. Therefore the only beating of our heart is the beating of the one infinite heart that resounds through the universe. And what is the message of this melodious beat? It is love, love and love. No discordant message of hate or fear can take away from the great Heart of Love. So let us mentally dissolve the delusion that we have a heart that is not a projection of the Great Heart of Love because if you give love, you’ll receive love.
